Once you connect your Instagram, Socialphotos will fetch your posts, tagged + mentioned photos, and any hashtags you are tracking. You then add these photos into galleries and display them throughout your store as social proof. We will notify you when there are new photos so you won't miss any valuable content.


Instagram Posts are photos that you posted to Instagram yourself. Socialphotos automatically keeps it in sync for you.

Tagged photos

Tagged Photos are photos when users tags you directly on their photo itself. This is NOT the same as mentioned photos, see below. Socialphotos automatically keeps it in sync for you.

Mentioned photos

Mentioned Photos are photos when users use your @handle in their captions or comments. This is NOT the same as tagged photos, see above. Socialphotos automatically keeps it in sync for you.

  • We cannot fetch any past photos for mentioned photos. We can only fetch mentioned photos from the moment you connect your Instagram with Socialphotos. This is a limitation set by Instagram.


Your can track Instagram hashtags so customers who posts photos with that hashtag can be added to your galleries. Socialphotos automatically keeps tracking these hashtags for you.

The main hashtags page shows a combination of all the photos that you are tracking.

  • You can track more hashtags clicking on the Add button. It is recommended that you test the hashtag on Instagram first.
  • You can filter for a specific #hashtag by clicking from the list of hashtags.
  • The new label indicates that there are new photos for that hashtag since you last visit it.


  • Socialphotos can only fetch photos from the last 24 hours from the moment you track that hashtag. For example, if you start tracking #socialphotos on Jan 2, 2021 at 12pm, the earliest photos we can fetch is from Jan 1, 2021 at 12pm. However, from Jan 2, 2021 onwards, we can automatically track those hashtags for you.
  • There is a limit to how many photos we can fetch so we strongly recommend that you track specific hashtags that is unique to your business or product rather than something generic like #fashion.
  • You can only track a maximum of 30 hashtags at a time. This is a limitation set by Instagram.
  • We will only keep 6 months of hashtag photos. Photos that have been added to a gallery or tagged with a product will be saved permanently in your Favorites page.

Due to these limitations, we recommend that you asks your customers to either upload their photos directly or tag you on Instagram.

Multiple Facebook Pages

You may have multiple Facebook pages, but only one can be connected to an Instagram business account. You can follow these steps to ensure that your accounts are connected correctly.

  • Go to your Instagram on your mobile phone and click on "Edit Profile"
  • Under "Public Business Information", you should see "Page". That represents the Facebook Page that is currently connected to your Instagram Business Account. Take note of both the Username and Page.
  • Click on the "Page" and a "Manage Connection" pop up appears. Click on "Change or Create Page"
  • Select the Facebook Page that you want. In this example, the page name is called getsocialphotos.
  • Go back to Socialphotos' Instagram settings page and click on "Connect Your Instagram".
  • Select the right Instagram Business Account and then click "Next".
  • Select the Facebook Page that is connected which should be getsocialphotos.

Common Issues

Here are some of the common issues we have seen from Instagram.

Instagram Disconnected

Sometimes your Instagram account can get disconnected. While you are disconnected, we cannot fetch any Instagram photos for you. Here are some of the reasons as to why this can happen:

  • You changed your password
  • Instagram detect suspicious activity on your account
  • You have not used the site for a while and Instagram logs you out
  • You change your Facebook page or other information
  • ...and many more

The solution is simple. You can re-connect via the Instagram settings and click on "Connect Instagram". For reference, you can navigate to this settings page via Account → Settings.

Cannot Track Certain Hashtags

This can happen for the following reasons:

  • Your hashtags may be deemed inappropriate or have adult content.
  • Your hashtags may not exist yet.
