Socialphotos vs Instafeed: choosing a Shopify customer gallery
Updated · By the Socialphotos team
We build Socialphotos. Competitor details are based on public documentation checked September 14, 2026, rather than a hands-on test. Prices shown are USD monthly subscriptions; annual offers and current terms may differ.
If your store already runs on Instagram content, Mintt Instafeed deserves a place on your shortlist. If your customer photos also arrive by email, in person, or through submission links, test how each app handles that whole collection process.
Instafeed has grown beyond a basic feed
Mintt's Shopify listing includes a free Starter plan, Pro at $8/month with product tagging, and Plus at $20/month with tagged Instagram UGC, custom media uploads, and product and collection feeds. Calling it “just an Instagram feed” would miss that overlap. See Mintt Instafeed's current plans.
Those prices are lower than Socialphotos' shoppable-gallery tiers. If Instafeed handles your collection and display needs, paying more for another app needs a concrete reason.
Follow a photo from customer to storefront
Imagine a clothing shop receiving an outfit photo in an email. Another customer wants to submit a photo without posting on Instagram. A third has already tagged the brand. These are three different starting points, even if the finished gallery looks similar.
Socialphotos supports four sources: Instagram, Customer Uploads through a storefront gallery, Your Uploads for files you already have, and Upload Pages for shareable submission links. You choose what to feature, then place that content in a gallery. Compare the four collection methods.
Mintt documents custom media uploads, so uploading your own files is not a unique Socialphotos capability. For a customer-facing submission form or a link in a post-purchase email, check the exact workflow in each app's trial. A merchant uploading a file and a customer submitting one are different tasks.
Choose the plan for the placement
Socialphotos Basic is $19/month for photo galleries on your homepage or other store pages. Advanced is $35/month and adds product tags and product-page galleries. Premium is $55/month and adds video display. All paid plans include unlimited photos; Premium includes unlimited photos and videos. There is a seven-day trial, with no free plan for new customers. See Socialphotos pricing.
Test with the same photos in both apps. Put a gallery on your intended page, tag a real product, and open it on your phone. In Socialphotos you can configure different desktop and mobile layouts; judge whether the result fits your theme and whether maintaining it feels straightforward.
Frequently asked questions
Is Socialphotos a cheaper Instafeed alternative?
Not for the paid plans compared here. Consider Socialphotos for its collection and gallery workflow, and only switch if that solves a need your current setup leaves unmet.
Do I need to replace an Instagram feed that already works?
No. Write down the missing job first: receiving customer submissions, creating a curated lookbook, or showing relevant photos beside a product. If your existing app does it well, keeping it may be the right decision.
